Design Colloquium |
Our firm sponsors and co-hosts an annual event called The Design Colloquium.
We created the Design Colloquia series in 2005 to fill an unmet need for high level dialogue across the design professions. Participants are leaders from architecture, engineering, interior design, urban design and planning, and landscape architecture firms. Attendance is by invitation only and limited to fifty people.
We host events for two distinctly different types of design firms. One event is for large firms, with multiple offices and international practices. The other is for practices we refer to as ‘Design-First’ firms. By this term, we mean mid-sized firms that have achieved reputations for design excellence without relying on ‘black cape’ design superstars.
Each type of firm is unique, and those who fit one category or the other have much in common.
By coming together to share experiences and opinions, participants not only gain valuable insights for themselves, but also advance the design professions as a whole.
Following the event, we publish a white paper that summarizes and highlights the presentations and discussions.
Our co-sponsor of the Design Colloquia is Breuer Consulting Group, which provides search consulting to design professionals. Mary Breuer and Mark Cameron are long-time colleagues and friends.

"Very good program and speakers. The global perspective of the topics addressed given the diversity of the attendees was impressive and valuable.
The focus and short time span is really an effective format. Great Job!"

"I came into it with high expectations and it exceeded them. The time spent offline at the restaurant and during breaks at our tables was invaluable - comparing notes, building new relationships, etc. Great job, Mark and Mary!"
