Jack MacAllister evaluates design practices and develops programs to improve processes, systems, and firm culture.
Mr. MacAllister joined Mark Cameron's consulting firm in 2003, after having been President of NBBJ's California offices. Prior to that he had founded Anshen+Allen, Los Angeles (which was renamed CO Architects in 2005) and became President and CEO of Anshen+Allen firmwide. He also co-founded the firm's London office. He came to Anshen+Allen from Bobrow Thomas Associates, where he led the architectural practice.
He began his career in the Office of Louis Kahn. Among his most notable projects with Kahn was the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, for whom he continues as Consulting Architect to the present day.
He was Professor of Architecture for the University of Southern California, and has lectured or has been a visiting critic at eighteen universities including Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Yale, and the University of Pennsylvania.
