Planning Session Facilitation

Much of our consulting practice is about bringing people to agreement around a direction or a plan. We facilitate one- and two-day and planning sessions and retreats for groups ranging in size from five to twenty-five. The process is similar, whether one is preparing a one-year marketing or business plan, a five-year strategic plan, or an overall vision for a practice area.

We seek first to understand the issues and concerns of all individuals that have a stake in the outcome. To be effective requires us to develop trust with all participants, so they will feel fairly heard and represented. The issues and concerns are documented for all to review. We also set them in context of the macro environment of the design and construction industry, which is undergoing dramatic change.

We define a process to make the planning session most productive, and create an environment for discussing issues openly and constructively, and facilitate the process to work toward consensus.

"Mark and Andrea’s facilitation of our Principals retreat was creative, intuitive and ultimately spot on. Their approach enabled the group to open up and have honest discussions about complex and sensitive issues in a way that enhanced relationships rather than strain relationships. Never before have our retreats been equally successful in addressing issues AND enhancing relationships."

Mark’s focused, inclusive approach kept us on track while allowing us to explore and commit to strategic approaches that will continue to advance our firm as the firm of choice for both employees and clients."
